NO SOCCER PARKING IN
NEIGHBORHOODS AT PEPPERTREE
risk of losing our permits to play at peppertree
Because of a situation three weeks ago involving our No Parking signs in the neighborhood next to Peppertree Playfields, we have not been able to put up our signs. We have been and continue to be in conversation with Conejo Parks and Recreation (CRPD), who is working with the City Attorney, the City Traffic Manager, and the Ventura County Sheriff's Dept, to be able to have our signs back up; we hope to have them there again in the next week or two.As a condition of our permits to use Peppertree, we must be respectful of the homeowners and cannot allow soccer parking on the residential streets in the neighborhood adjacent to Peppertree. This is clearly noted in both the coach manual and the team parent packet. For the past couple of weeks, when we have not been able to put our No Parking signs up, many families have been parking in the neighborhood. Some have also been ignoring our security guard's request to park elsewhere. We are in jeopardy of losing our permits for Peppertree if people continue to park in the neighborhood! We realize that parking is a challenge at Peppertree, but we must ask that everyone please be good soccer neighbors and do not park in the neighborhood. There is overflow parking along Reino Road and in the designated areas of the business park across Old Conejo. We want to be able to continue to offer our soccer program for the kids of Newbury Park. Thank you for your help and understanding of this situation. Leslie Gilder Commissioner, AYSO Region 42 10/E/42 |
