REMINDER: NO PETS OF ANY KIND PERMITTED AT ANY AYSO EVENT -- INCLUDING PRACTICES
While neighbors around our fields may walk their pets around the park's paths, no pets of any kind may be near the fields themselves. This includes but is not limited to: dogs, cats, gerbils, hamsters, dragons, lizards, and birds. This is not only part of our permit conditions, but is also for the safety of our players. A few seasons ago one of our players, as he ran to retrieve a ball, was bitten by a normally docile dog with no history of aggression. To help ensure the safety of our players, referees may stop play until the dog has left the field area. So please, no pets at the fields.

  • SILENT SATURDAYS MAKE BETTER PLAYERS

Why Sideline Screaming Can Stifle Your Child's Game  -   by mike woitalla
Imagine you're undertaking a fairly difficult task: assembling a piece of furniture with hieroglyphic instructions, filling out IRS Form 4562 on April 14, or standing on the highest rungs of a ladder painting the crown moulding in your living room with 14-foot ceilings. Think it would help if someone yelled at you during the process? Of course not.

INFORMATION ON LEAGUE PLAYOFFS
Teams advancing to Area League Playoffs (check the Individual Standings in each division for teams advancing) should review the information posted on the Area 10E website. Once on the site, select U10/12/14 League Playoffs from the left-side menu. The preliminary Information for Coaches document is now available. All players, parents/guardians, referees and coaches are encouraged to read this information.

Detailed schedules showing team pairings for Pool Play will be posted once all team information has been received from Region staff.

REGULAR SEASON COMPLETED
Our final regular season games were played on Saturday, November 19th. We hope that everyone -- players as well as parents, coaches, referees and spectators -- had a fun-filled day to end the season.

HONORING OUR TROOPS
TROOPS SAY THANKS
We've starting receiving letters of thanks from troops who've received some of the Care Boxes sent from AYSO Region 42. Posted on our Facebook page...
Lee Werhan -> AYSO Region 42
Greetings from Afghanistan! I have recently received a care package from your great organization and I want to express my thanks and gratitude for such a thoughtful gift. All of the men and women stationed here in Afghanistan and Iraq truly appreciate all the support you give us. Thank you all again. FOR ALL PLAYERS U7 THROUGH U19
PREMIER LEAGUE REGISTRATION OPEN
Applications for the 2012 Premier League are now being accepted! The deadline for Registration is December 5th, 2011.

WHAT IS PREMIER LEAGUE? - After the regularly scheduled season families get busy with the holidays and many children move on to other sports. What do you do if your child still wants more soccer?

Premier League stresses skills and fun for players in the U7 through U19 age groups. This program is run by Region 9 (Thousand Oaks) and has no advancements to other levels. The number and size of teams we field depends on the amount of adult support we receive. Sorry, but Premier League does not have teams for the very youngest (U6) players.

We expect that children who are selected for All-Stars or Extra teams or who play for Club teams will not play in this Premier League so they can devote their time and talent to one team.

NEW THIS YEAR: Coed U16 and U19 teams! - For the first time we are going to offer the opportunity for these divisions to participate in Premier. We are heavily relying on word of mouth in order to get enough players for these divisions; so please "talk it up".

For all the details about the 2012 Premier League, and to submit an online application for your child or children, go to The 2012 Premier League website.

REFEREE FEEDBACK FORM AVAILABLE ONLINE
Games cannot be played without referees, and we want to help ensure that our volunteer referees are doing the best possible job to help ensure matches are fun and safe for all players. If you have positive feedback about a referee, or constructive input that you would like to share with our Referee Administrator, please use our new Referee Feedback Form.

REMEMBER...
Before you're rushing out the door to get to the fields, here are some things to remember to do, bring, and not to bring in order to make the day more enjoyable for everyone!
  • GOAL SETUP/TEARDOWN & FIELD STRIPING - It is the responsibilities of the teams playing the first game of the day on each field to set up the goals and stripe the fields, and the teams playing the last game of the day on each field to teardown the goals and place the equipment in the bags. If you have the first game of the day please be sure you show up earlier enough to help with these tasks. See our tips for goal setup & teardown and field striping.
  • UNIFORM - Be sure your player is in their complete uniform; shoes, socks, shin guards, shorts and team jersey. Remember, for the safety of all players: no earrings, no bracelets, no toe cleats.
  • NO PETS - While neighbors around our fields may walk their dogs around the park's paths, no dogs may be near the fields themselves. This is not only part of our permit conditions, but is also for the safety of our players. A few seasons ago one of our players, as he ran to retrieve a ball, was bitten by a normally docile dog with no history of aggression. To help ensure the safety of our players, referees may stop play until the dog has left the field area. So please, no dogs at the fields.
  • WATER OR SPORTS DRINKS - Make sure you bring fluids not only for your player, but for yourself. If you are the Home team, please remember to bring extra fluids for the referees on your game too.
  • SUNSCREEN - Whether you're running on the field or watching the match, make sure that you and your player are covered with sunscreen. Even in the early morning, an hour in the sun can leave you more than a little red.
  • CHAIR OR BLANKET - There are no bleachers for our fields so be sure you bring something you feel comfortable to sit on for the length of the match, such as a blanket or a folding chair. Spectators are not allowed to sit nor stand behind the goals, and please be sure to be far enough back from the field for the coaches to coach and the players to play.
  • UMBRELLAS - If you bring an umbrella for shade, please be sure to set-up far enough from the field so that players are not at risk of running into the umbrella, and that it will not interfere with players taking throw-ins. Please have the edge of the umbrella at least 5 feet from the field.
  • SNACKS - Make sure you bring something for yourself and players to snack on during and after their matches. The snack shack at Pepper Tree Playfields serves snacks, hot dogs, hamburgers, sodas and more, but there is no snack shack at Dos Vientos fields.
  • A GREAT ATTITUDE - Have a great day and lets make this a great day for all players!
