Under the leadership of both our previous and present commissioners, Graham Rice and Gary Nelson, Region 42 has committed itself to the completion of the Peppertree Park's Master Plan. The addition of a picnic facility is part of that plan. The structure was dedicated with dignitaries from the City of Thousand Oaks, Rotary, and Newbury Park AYSO all in attendance. During the 2004 season opening meeting we asked our AYSO families to help support the Peppertree Picnic project with donations towards a personalized BRICK to be included on the walkway of the facility.

The initial response started out slowly, but the first phase of the project is now completed. You can now see the results as many of the bricks have been put into place at the picnic facility. Our next phase is to ask all of the more than 3000 past and present AYSO families in Newbury Park, and their friends, for their continued support. This project is being done in partnership with the Newbury Park Rotary Club. The Picnic facility is designed to benefit the whole community while being a fantastic addition to Region 42's home site.

A bit of history to understand why Region 42 should take the lead. We have a history of taking the initiative of making things happen in the growth of the soccer program and sharing the financial burden with the Conejo Valley Recreation and Park District. For 10 years, leading up to Region 42 moving to Peppertree Park, our fundraisers contributed $250,000 in the way of existing Field, Parking Lot, Driveway and Snack Shack Improvements. Additionally, there were countless hours of volunteer time, making those dollars only part of completing the project at our scenic Region 42 home site.

We ask you to consider making a donation to assist AYSO Region 42, The Newbury Park and Conejo Valley Rotary Clubs and the Conejo Valley Recreation and Park District in their continued cooperative effort to make our fine facilities at Peppertree Park even better.
