REMINDER: NO PETS OF ANY KIND PERMITTED AT ANY AYSO EVENT
-- INCLUDING PRACTICES
While neighbors around our fields may walk their pets around the park's paths, no pets of any kind may be near the fields themselves. This includes but is not limited to: dogs, cats, gerbils, hamsters, dragons, lizards, and birds. This is not only part of our permit conditions, but is also for the safety of our players. A few seasons ago one of our players, as he ran to retrieve a ball, was bitten by a normally docile dog with no history of aggression. To help ensure the safety of our players, referees may stop play until the dog has left the field area. So please, no pets at the fields.

AYSO REGION 42 TO HONOR OUR TROOPS -- 2011
UPDATE: Boxes and individual items can still be dropped off at Pepper Tree Playfields on Saturday, October 29th, 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM. If you didn't get a chance to drop off your box last weekend, or if you've prepared another, bring it to Pepper Tree Playfields near the Snack Shack this Saturday. Please bring $12.95 for postage. (Cash, or check payable to "Hollywood Storage")
On October 22, 2011, the members of AYSO Region 42 will honor our service men and women serving in combat zones.
We want to ensure that all our members are aware that the care free environment that we enjoy every Saturday is due, in part, to the sacrifices of our soldiers deployed in combat zones.
All games on October 22nd will be dedicated to our service men and women. Participation by each team is completely voluntary. And no particular ceremony is necessary.
In addition, each team or each two teams (if teams wish to join together) will have the option of collecting appropriate items and preparing a "care box" to be sent to a service person. Each team would also collect money for the postage. AYSO Region 42 will provide the boxes and a letter to be included with each box. AYSO Region 42 will also distribute the boxes to the team and will collect and mail them after insuring that appropriate packaging and paperwork are in place.

Once your team receives the box and the information package, please find items per the suggested item list, provide an inventory of the contents in the box and return on Saturday October 23. Please do not seal the box, since we need to include a letter from our region to the troops receiving them.
We are grateful for your support for this activity and for, in a very small way, showing your appreciation to the Service Men and Women serving in combat zones.
We would like to emphasize that this is not in any way a political gesture and that we should strive to keep our focus on the people aspect of the activity. We just want to show that we are thankful to these men and women for their sacrifices and for doing their job under very trying circumstances.
