2018 All-Star Playoff Results

The All-Star Tournament is two-weekend tournament, featuring all-star teams from each region in Area 10E (Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, Simi Valley, Agoura/Westlake, and Malibu). The first weekend has six pool play games, and those results determine seeding in the knockout rounds on the second weekend. Region 42 sent nine teams across all divisions, and eight of them brought trophies or medals home. Congratulations to all our players and coaches for their efforts and successes!

Starting with the boys, in 10U, our A team completed pool play with a 4–0–2 record, giving them the second seed, while the B team was seeded fifth. In 12U, the boys team earned the top seed with a perfect six wins out of six, and the 14U boys were seeded third thanks to a 3–2–0 record (they were only three points behind the first seed). The knockout rounds saw both our 10U teams make it to the semifinals, where the A team fell to Agoura and the B team lost to Malibu. The 12U boys, meanwhile, won all three of their matches to finish as tournament champions, defeating Malibu 3–0 in the final. Lastly, the 14U boys lost in the semifinal to champions Thousand Oaks.

Moving on to the girls, our 10U A team was unstoppable in the pool games, winning all six and easily taking the top seed, and our B team earned the fourth seed with 2–2–2 record. Our 12U girls A team went 5–1–0 for the second seed, finishing only two points behind the leaders Thousand Oaks, while the B team ended in sixth with a 1–4–1 record. Finally, the 14U girls finished in the middle of the pack, going 3–3–0 and taking the third seed (out of six). In the knockout rounds, the 10U A girls continued their dominance, finding the back of the net six times in each of the three games to finish as champions. The B team might have finished higher, if they hadn't had the bad luck to play the A team in the semifinal, but they did score three goals, which is two more than any other team was able to do. The 12U B girls were unfortunate to lose in the quarterfinal by a single goal, but the A team won their first two and finished in second place, falling to top seed Thousand Oaks in the final. Two consecutive 1–0 victories took the 14U girls to the final, where they were defeated by top seed Agoura and ended in second place.

The first and second-place teams (12U boys, 10U girls A, 12U girls A, 14U girls) will continue on to the Section 10 All-Star finals in Bakersfield in February.
